"Bordeaux Special: Left bank, Right bank"
Aroma Training & Blind Wine Tasting
Bordeaux is most often separated into two parts –the
right bank and the left bank. On the left bank, Cabernet
Sauvignon rules, and the Médoc region hugs the west
side of the Gironde river. Below the Médoc, following the
river as it turns, lies the Graves region.

The right bank of Bordeaux is where Merlot and
Cabernet Franc shine best. Merlot is typically used more
in the blends, particularly in the surrounding satellite
regions of Bordeaux. The heart of the right bank is the
city of St.-Émilion and the wine region that surrounds it.
Next door is Pomerol, a small but intense red wine
producer.

Aroma Training
Using the educational and absolutely FUN tool Le Nez
du Vin © ("The Nose of Wine", 54 aromas)
developed by
French wine professional & aficionado
Jean Lenoir, you
will learn:
- how to recognize aromas... and simply develop your
sense of smell!
- how to classify them and make the difference between
aromas from the same category
(fruits, flowers, spices...)

Blind Tasting
In the same time, you will also BLIND taste around 6
wines very representative of the Left and the Right banks
in Bordeaux region... including some
Grands Crus!
... and you will learn:
- how to taste wine
- how to detect grapes and specific wine areas based
on the aromas you are scenting... and that you learned
to recognize in the 1st exercise.
" ...Recognizing the aromas is
more difficult than it sounds,
it's like meeting an old friend
on the street and not being
able to remember his name.
Le Nez du Vin is a great
icebreaker, the minute you
open the lid, everyone wants
to get into the act ... "
